Devin Chatterton is a Directing Attorney on the Adult Representation Program. Her work includes representing individuals and families in deportation proceedings and within detention centers. Devin is based in Los Angeles and is a native of Orange County. Devin received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. In law school, Devin successfully argued in the California Court of Appeal, First District on behalf of then California Attorney General Kamala Harris.
Devin started at ImmDef in 2017 as a Staff Attorney and was soon promoted to Managing Attorney, representing detained individuals with mental health issues in removal proceedings as part of the National Qualified Representative Program (NQRP). Devin also represented families who were separated at the border in their removal proceedings. From 2021-2022, she was a Senior Staff Attorney at Sanctuary for Families in New York, where she represented survivors of domestic violence and trafficking in their immigration matters, before returning back to ImmDef. Devin has also been a guest lecturer at The New School in New York and at Wesleyan University.
