Beanie Bains brings over 20 years of non-profit financial management experience to her role as Director of Finance. Beginning her career in Canada, as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA), she served the largest academic nonprofit, working up as one of top three key roles within the accounting team. Since then, she has held a number of senior roles for various nonprofits in both Canada and the United States, within social economic sectors, education, health, and now in immigration law. Throughout these roles she has been responsible for all financial functions in planning and reporting, accounting, audit, investments, leadership, and organizational strategy.
Beanie received a Bachelors degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University, and then on completed her designation with Certified Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada.
From early on in her career, Beanie has always held at high regard to use knowledge to better improve the communities we reside in. She has assisted new immigrants in filing and understanding their annual taxes, and in recent years has created and facilitated a financial literacy program for high school students in underserved communities of Central and South Los Angeles.
