Use of our Site indicates that you agree with the Terms stated below. We reserve the right to update our policies and these Terms and recommend that you review this page periodically. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on our Site. Your continued use of this Site after any change or update will constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with our terms, you should not access or use this web site.

This Privacy Policy explains how Immigrant Defenders Law Center (“ImmDef,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses your information. Where applicable, you consent to the use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy each time you visit our website.

This information includes payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information, and billing and contact details, required to process your donation with our payment processor(s).

We may gather some of this information automatically.

All collected information is stored on a secure encrypted server. You may visit our site anonymously. It is ImmDef's policy not to disclose, transfer, sell or rent your Personal Information to any individual, business, government entity or outside parties except: (i) to provide products or services you've requested through us; (ii) in response to a validly-issued subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (iii) when necessary to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal action; or (v) where you request ImmDef to do so. We may use personal information to help verify payment transactions and promote safety and security, such as by monitoring fraud and investigating suspicious or potentially illegal activity or violations of our terms or policies. We may use personal information to help improve our website, marketing, programs or services. If you click on or view one of our emails, we may monitor the amount of time you spend on our websites, or the referring URL.

These companies are obligated to protect your information. Our donation platform uses a secure server and encrypts information sent and received. Our websites and services may contain links to or the ability for you to access third-party websites, products, and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those third parties, nor are we responsible for the information or content their products and services contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by us through our website and services. 

 

SMS 

Clients may initiate contact with ImmDef and by doing so consent to ImmDef messaging in return. ImmDef may use third-party texting platforms to communicate with our donors, clients, or others. We may establish initial communication by third-party messaging platforms, and you may opt-out by replying, “Stop.”  By opting in and sharing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from us for marketing, fundraising, programming, or other purposes. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages. By opting in you understand that anyone with access to your mobile phone or devices may be able to view the messages you receive from us, and you agree that we will not be liable to you if this occurs. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you, and we are not liable for the cost of any such messages. You may receive multiple or recurring messages. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose information from children under 18 years old through our website. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 18 years old or older. Moreover, if you provide us with information about children under the age of 18, you acknowledge and agree that either you are the child’s parent/legal guardian or you have the authority and consent of the child’s parent/legal guardian.
