Details: White supremacy and anti-Blackness are ingrained in this country’s history and immigration system. We must bring attention to the voices and experiences of people who have been directly impacted by these policies, so we can put an end to these inhumane practices that are causing needless pain, trauma, violence and death, especially and disproportionately to Black immigrants.
This panel will expose the disparate and disproportionate effect that Biden’s immigration policies have on Black immigrant and refugee lives. We will hear from Black immigrants, including an LGBTQIA+ identifying asylum seeker who was stuck in Mexico and is now in the U.S, as well as a Haitian family that was expelled to Haiti under Title 42 and has since returned to the northern Mexico border seeking safety again. Attorneys and advocates will also discuss the disparate treatment that they have witnessed between Black and non-Black people who are in desperate need of protection. Haitian Kreyol and English interpretation services will be provided during the livestream.
